Palolem beach

Palolem is Goa's one of the most beauteous and pleasant beach. Palolem is a beach of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands. It has 1.5 km lunate shaped beach with persuading coconut palms hemmed by a pair of rocky drops. The white sand beach in a curve is picture perfect. The beach lies on the southern coastline of Goa amid outstanding natural beauty.

The sweeping crescent of white sand is fringed by a louche flange of coconut palms and the whole beach is hemmed in at either end by rocky crags.

The village located nearby has several coffeehouses and souvenir stalls catering to day-trippers and vacationers who arrive in hordes on sightseeing tours of the beaches. Despite the commercialisation, Palolem remains a traditionalistic village, where the easy pace of life is dictated by the three daily rounds of todi-tapping.

The little wooded islands on the northern headland look interesting; one can also venture out to the sea to spot dolphins at this beautiful beach in Goa. Palolem fits the bill and in recent years, more and more tourists have been making a beeline for this palm fringed golden beach.

How to go there
Palolem is just 3 km away from Canacona Railway Junction, now on the Konkan Railway. There are regular buses from Margao to Palolem that would drop you at Canacona village
