Passport / Visa / Insurance / Traveler Cheques / M├ędical Information

Passport
• Passport should be valid at least 6 months from the date of travel
• Emigration Check Not Required (ECNR) stamp on the Passport is now no longer required except if traveling on work permit
Visa
• Visa is required for most countries and most of them are taken before departure, unless it is visa on arrival
• Medical vaccination may be required if traveling to Africa, South America
Insurance
• Overseas Medical Insurance is important (mandatory for some countries) and must be taken before departure.

Tips
• Make photocopies of Passport details (personal information & photograph) and Visas.
Keep one copy in hand baggage & one copy in Checked-in baggage just in case.
• If traveling to U.S, please provide to the Airlines in advance full address during stay in the U.S and country of residence
Seat
• Request your seat preference in advance. However some airlines only allow at the airport.
Meal
• Request your meal preference in advance.
• Meal requests are not entertained within 48-24 hours
Hand Baggage
• No liquids of any type are permitted in hand baggage other than the following items: -
- Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit)
- Baby milk and liquid baby food sufficient and essential for the flight.
(The contents of each bottle or jar must be tasted by the accompanying passenger
• Most of the Airlines allow 1 piece of hand baggage and 1 laptop to be carried onto the aircraft
Checked-in Baggage
• All destinations except USA – allowed 20kg in Economy, 30kg in Business class – please reconfirm with your ticket.
• For travel to USA – allowed 2 pieces and each piece to weigh 23kg maximum

AT THE AIRPORT
• Check-in Procedures
• Please screen your Checked-in baggage before proceeding to the Airline counter.
• Place your baggage at the conveyor belt & take from the other end after security taped
• You will be asked to open the bags if carrying any prohibited items
• After baggage security, proceed to the Airline counter
• Show your ticket & Passport and place your check-in baggage on the scales
• Your baggage will be checked-in up to your destination or the first point based on your ticket
• The check-in desk will handover Boarding Pass, Baggage tag coupons for Checked-in baggage,
Baggage labels for hand baggage and returns your Passport & balance Ticket
• Please also pickup & fill up Embarkation (Departure) card, freely available in the Check-in/Customs area.

Customs / Immigration Procedures
• Now proceed to the Customs / Immigration counter and show your Passport, ECNR status on the Passport, Visa,
Boarding Pass & Embarkation (Departure) Card
• The desk may also check your International Credit Card or Foreign Exchange your are carrying

Security Procedures
• After clearing Customs / Immigration, proceed for Hand baggage & Personal Security Check
• Place your baggage at the conveyor belt & take from the other end after security taped

In Mysore : Places to visit in Mysore are

Bandipur National Park Another interesting place that you can visit while in Mysore is the Bandipur National Park. This Park is about 80 km from Mysore city and is a peaceful retreat in nature's lap far from the din of the city.

Biligiri Rangana Hills Another interesting getaway from Mysore for nature enthusiasts is the Biligiri Rangana Hills popularly known as the B.R.Hills. Though these hills are famous for the ancient temple on top of the hills, it is also home to a lesser-known wildlife sanctuary.

Melkote important pilgrim center that is close to Mysore is Melkote or Tirunarayanapuram. Melkote is about 60kms from Mysore city and is located in a hilly region that comprises some of the oldest rock formations on earth. Cradled in the middle of these hills is the temple town of Melkote.

Nanjangud is popular excursion from Mysore city is Nanjangud. Nanjangud is 25kms from Mysore. It is a holy place because of the Nanjundeswara or Srikanteswara temple.
Shravanabelagola Shravanabelagola is a place worth visiting while at Mysore. Shravanabelagola is famous for the monolith of Bahubali or Gommateshwara. There are two stony hills called Chandragiri and Indragiri. Chandragiri is famous for the Chandragupta Basadi built by the Gangas. Indragiri is famous for the Chavendaraya Basadi and the gigantic statue of Gommateshwara.

Shivanasamudra Travel Shivanasamudra is about 85kms to the east of Mysore. At Shivanasamudra the river Cauvery cascades down a deep rocky gorge in two breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls.

Somnathpur Temple Somnathpur is a small village on the banks of the river Cauvery that was founded by the commander of the Hoyasala army, Somnath. The village is famous for its splendid and grand Keshava temple that has been built in the Hoyasala style.

Talakad is situated on the banks of the river Cauvery, near Mysore and is known for its sand dunes. There are a number of temples on the banks of the Cauvery in Talakad that are buried under the sand .

Ooty

•Also known as Udhagamandalam is the "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during the colonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. An added attraction for the tourists to Udagamandalam is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along beside deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens. This morning you will enjoy a tour of the ‘Queen of the Blue Mountains’ that includes a visit to Dodabetta peak for a spectacular view. Continue driving to Coonoor and visit Sim’s park, Dolphins Nose point and a tea plantation. Return to Ooty and you can visit the Botanical garden and also walk along the popular Ooty lake Enjoy a boat ride on Ooty Lake

Kodaikanal

Means the “Gift Of the Forest” situated among the pallani hills . It is one of the unexplored destination of southan India. In Kodaikanal visiting the ancient Kurinji Andavar temple, St. Peters Church, the Bear- Shola Falls - a popular picnic spot and Pillar rocks. In the afternoon spend some time in Bryant Park and enjoy boating on the beautiful Kodai Lake.

The intricate dexterous carvings on the red stone are a hallmark of great craftsmanship. The palace treasures are a marvelous collection of old photographs and hunting trophies well preserved and exhibited. Also visit the Gajner Palace, an incomparable jewel in the Thar Desert built on the embankment of Gajner Lake. Late afternoon visit the camel breeding farm nearby. Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is located in the heart of the Thar Desert. Enroute, visit the famous Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke the only temple in India where rats are worshipped.

Jodhpur

In Jodhpur you must visit the imposing Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a lofty height, 400 feet (122 m) above the city. Explore the various museums that house the finest artifacts of the Royal family of Jodhpur.
Today continue on your journey to Udaipur. Enroute enjoy a visit to the beautifully preserved white marble Jain Temples in Ranakpur. There are 29 halls spread over 40,000 sq.ft. And consist of 1,444 pillars, not one of which is alike.

Udaipur

You will visit the sprawling City Palace complex along the shores of the Lake Pichola. Visit the exotic palaces and pleasure gardens. Continue to the Saheliyon ki Badi - the Garden of the of Honors for the Royal Ladies of Mewar. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure or you may enjoy a boat ride on the picturesque Lake Pichola, cruising past the spectacular City Palace Jag Mandir Island and the famous Jag Niwas Island.

Chandigarh

The Tour Start from Chandigarh visiting the Rock Garden (open 10 am to 7 pm on all days). The Rock Garden is made out of recycled materials. Situated near Sukhna Lake, it consists of man made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been constructed of scrap and other kinds of wastes (bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical materials, etc) which are placed in walled paths. In the evening visit Sukhna Lake, an artificial man made lake spread over 3 sq. kms. You may wish to take an enjoyable boat ride in the lake.


Manali

Manali, situated in the Valley of Gods; a combination of natural splendor and rich cultural
Heritage. Visit the Tibetan Monastery which houses several images of Lord Buddha, Tankha paintings and the Hadimba Devi Temple dedicated to Goddess Hadimba, the wife of Bhim of Mahabharata. It has a four -tiered Pagoda shaped roof and the doorway is carved with legendary figures and symbols. Later drive to Vashist, a small village located on the left bank of river Beas renowned for its hot springs and temples. Nearby is the pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashist Muni.

Snow Point / Rohtang Pass
full day excursion to Snow Point on the Rohtang Pass road. The pass is open between June and
October each year and is the gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley.


Kullu

Kullu Valley, situated on the banks of Beas river. Kullu at an altitude of about 3,900 feet is famous for its apple orchards, old wooden temples like Raghunath temple, Vaishno Devi temple and its folk music and dances.


Shimla

Enjoy your drive past the banks of the Beas River and proceed to Shimla Kufri and Chail (23 kms /approx. 2 hour drive) wonderful excursion to Kufri and Chail. In Kufri enjoy a walk through thick cedar woods to Mahasu Peak for an amazing view of the mighty Himalayas. Continue onwards to Chail and see the world’s highest cricket and polo ground. Spend the evening on the mall road visiting Scandal point, Christ Church and Lakkad bazaar.

Introduced Gondola Lift.Then proceed on a city tour visiting the Shankracharya temple situated atop a hill followed by the famous Mughal gardens - Chasmashahi, Nishad & Shalimar (Closed on Friday). These gardens were the Mughal Emperors’ concept of Paradise and even today are popular picnic spots. Also visit a local handicrafts shop where you can purchase local hand crafted items - shawls, jackets, bed covers, paper mache, carpets and much more! The rest of the evening is at leisure. You could stroll along the Dal Lake or explore the local markets or simply watch the romantic shikaras.


Sonmarg
Today embark on a full day excursion to the picturesque ‘meadow of gold’ - Sonmarg. The fast flowing Sindh River makes it popular for trout and mahseer fishing in summer. You can opt for a pony ride to one of the glaciers for some fun in the snow and ice.

Pahalgam
Pahalgam the ‘valley of shepherds’ which is situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Ladder and Sheshnag Lake. Enroute visit the Awantipura ruins, an 1100 year old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built by King Awantivarman. On arrival into Pahalgam, check into your hotel and enjoy the surrounding beauty.

Katra
In Katra visit to Mata Vaishnodevi – approx. 14 kms one way as per your own preferred time proceed to Banganga from where you will trek up the Mata Vaishnodevi Temple. Every day of the year, a mass of humanity surges up steep pathways that Cut across the hillside for mile after mile. Popular belief holds that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to her abode to ask for a wish rarely goes back disappointed. There are many who journey here to pay obeisance regardless of their faith, class, caste or religion, for Mata Vaishnodevi transcends all such barriers.
